A little Background on our Used Book Sale

Our annual used book sale is our major fundraiser! Last spring 2014, we raised just over $13,000. All these funds directly support our efforts to improve adult literacy in Oakville.

We're done! We're still rubbing our sore feet, but we wanted to post a quick "thank you" to all who made this event possible.

Thank you

Thanks to the volunteers who collected, sorted, stacked, boxed, moved, assisted shoppers and did what ever needed doing!

Thanks to those who donated books - you made a tremendous contribution to the community -- providing a recycling service ensuring homes for thousands of books that would otherwise likely end up in our landfills

Thanks to the supporters and shoppers - the money raised is tremendously appreciated and will make a significant difference in the lives of our current and future students.

WHY DO WE HOLD A USED BOOK SALE?

The money we raise supports our adult literacy program. Our trained volunteer tutors work one-on-one with local adults to help them improve their reading, writing, and math skills. Some learners are seeking skills for further independence, while others are trying to upgrade for better employment or educational opportunities.

In 2014, we sold close to $13,000 worth of used books at our sale, thanks to the generosity of people like you.

BOOK DONATIONS

Unfortunately we don't have year-round storage, so we only collect books in the spring.
